2014 - GRAND TOUR

Photo
For 2014, we have selected 25 historical sites to visit, that will take you to most of Nova Scotia in the process of visiting them. You don't actually have to enter many, just take your picture at a sign or identifiable indicator, but I would discourage this. Why not slow down, enjoy the site at a leisurely pace and learn as much as you can about our wonderful province?

gathering.

August 5,6,7 2011, Grand Falls NB.

10 members and 2 guests of the BMWONS attended this event . Under threatening weather four groups of riders left the metro area to ride various routes to the Grand Falls reunion. A group of four riders rode around the Gaspe Penninsula, Several rode through the 'Parc de la Gaspesie', another group explored the Acadian Penninsula in NB.
Bert, Bruce, Amedee and Shawn rode to La Pocatiere to meet the quebec riders on Friday. We then rode together to the 'Paradis de la P'Tit Montagne' in Grand Falls. Several groups formed for rides on Saturday. John E., Wayne MacLean, Bill Hayter and Amedee rode to Mount Carlton, St. Quentin and back to Grand Falls. The worse that happened is I got stung about four times by a couple of bees.

Nice ride today. Once we got out of Metro it turned warm. I was able to ride with just a T-Shirt under my jacket.

Five bikes and six riders. We rode Route 2 up to Truro for our first stop at Tims for a coffee. Then it was on to Five Islands Provincial Park to enjoy the scenery. We had lunch at the Goosecap Restaurant in Parrsboro. Got home about 5:30pm

DownEast Rally. May 20 -22, 2011
Comment from Turfman:
Thanks everyone for a great Down East 2011. Mdee we missed you. Cold ride home but no rain, all is good. Is New Brunswick full of pot holes or what? Cold Saturday night on the platform, needed rocks to hold the tents down. Peter I hope your ride home went well. The Hotelers likely had a great ride home after to toasty night sleep.GMac

This rally is one of our favorite rallies south of the border. Our attendance at the rally is legendary. The rally offers the finest of DownEast hospitality, topped off with a hearty lobster dinner for those who wish to partake.

In short, the rally is full of great riding, lots of friends, doorprizes and sure to give you your fill of memories.

BMWMOA International Rally

International Rally Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania July 21 – 24, 2011     Heading into historic Bloomsburg, you'll find some of the most sublime landscapes Pennsylvania has to offer - rolling hills of farmland, quaint villages, dense forests that provide a cool canopy on a hot summer day, hollows choked with laurel, and mountain twisty roads that lead to high ridges offering views of 30 or more miles. Throw in an old dirt race track on the fairgrounds and this is going to be an excellent rally!

Online Registration is now OPEN! http://stl.bmwmoa.org/core/events/eventdetails.aspx?meeting=RALLY2011

Pineo BBQ, August 21 2011

This was a combined AVR, BMWONS club event hosted by Beth and John Pineo.
It was set under sunny with occasional clouds. Some attending enjoyed the newly refurbished pool while others just enjoyed catching up with old friends while partaking of the odd drink and morsel of food. The highlight was indeed the pig roast spread catered by Meadowbrook Meat Market. Many thanks from all who attended to Beth and John for putting this on again.

September 2011

Goddard BBQ September 11, 2011

Excellent turnout for the Goddard gathering. The weather was pleasant and so was the company. Jim and Carol were gracious hosts with plenty of pot luck for all. Many thanks to the Goddards from all who attended.
October 2011

Fall Colours run Sep 30- Oct 2 2011

This the BMWONS signature Fall run. 11 members on 10 motorcycles made it to this event. Some arrived on thursday while the majority arrived on the friday. Some elected to do an abbreviated trail run while others made the yearly jaunt 'round the trail. Admidst threatening skies brought on by hurricane Ophelia seven motorcyclists ventured out and salvaged a days riding despite the weather. Light rain was the most they had to contend with. A nor'easter a few days later would have proven more problematic.
